As we move into Week 9 of the 2018/19 Elite Ice Hockey League season, there are 11 games coming up across the League and Challenge Cup.
Weeknight action sees the Guildford Flames host the Sheffield Steelers on Wednesday night, as both try to build on their wins on Sunday; while Friday night has MK Lightning in the first of their Scottish triple-header games as they visit Dundee.
Saturday night is a full calendar with 10 teams involved – the standout game being Sheffield hosting the Nottingham Panthers for the second time this season. Elsewhere on Saturday Manchester, Glasgow and Fife host Belfast, MK, and Coventry respectively as all three home teams look to bounce back after losses in their last matches. Cardiff Devilsmeanwhile are home to the Guildford Flames in the Challenge Cup, where points for the Flames would help them hold on to second place in the group with a game to go.
On Sunday the Panthers have another huge game, this time trying to hold on to their place at top as they welcome the Belfast Giants to Nottingham. MK play their final road game of the weekend in Fife, while Guildford and Manchester, who enter the weekend level on points, meet in Surrey. In the Challenge Cup Cardiff visit the Coventry, and while the Devils are already through to the next stage, a win for the Blaze could have an effect on seedings for the next round.
