Guildford Flames vs. Sheffield Steelers (Tickets)
The Sheffield Steelers head to Surrey tonight to take on the Flames for the second time this season in Week 9 Game Day 1 of the EIHL Regular Season. The previous meeting saw Guildford come away with a 5-1 victory. Flames forward Kruise Reddick picked up 3 points on the night, scoring two goals and one assist.
Head Coach Paul Dixon had the following to say prior to tonights game:
“Both teams enter the game on the back of a win which turned around a run for both teams of a couple of losses prior to that. Confidence is always a big part of how a team is able to carry forward. Between our win; a boost with the return of Brett Ferguson and the addition of TJ Foster we feel very positive about Wednesday. Hopefully we can get a good effort from the guys and pull in a result.”
Both teams ended their losing streaks on Sunday, as the Flames beat Belfast 3-2 in Guildford while Sheffield won 4-3 against Manchester Storm. Tonight’s hosts have won three straight games against the Steelers in Guildford.
Steelers Captain Jonathan Phillips had the following to say prior to tonights game:
“Confidence certainly took an upturn following the performance and win on Sunday against Manchester. Now we have to build on that down in Guildford. We have already suffered a loss to them down there and we can’t afford to make it two in a row. Hopefully we shall have a body or two back. Both Chris Lawrence and Evan McGrath are working hard trying to get into the line-up for that game. It’s time for us to get going and climb the table.”
