Head Coach Tom Barrasso home debut

Just the one Wednesday night game this evening in the Elite Ice hockey League.

19:30 Sheffield Steelers vs. Fife Flyers (Tickets)

New Sheffield Steelers Head Coach Tom Barrasso has his home debut tonight in the Steel City as his side entertain the Fife Flyers in league action. The Flyers could go to within two points of league leaders Nottingham with a win.

View from the two camps:
This is a good week for a mid week game, despite us being short handed with so many injuries, I think the new coach wants to see us in game situations. After a one game weekend we have to get right back at it and start picking up some points. Hopefully Robert Dowd will be back in the line-up on Wednesday, fingers crossed another one or two might join him Fife have had a great start to the season, we are one win apiece right now. As a club we aren’t having the best of times but the only way to get out of that is to work even harder and that’s what we will be doing this week and in the game on Wednesday.” Jonathan Phillips (Captain, Sheffield Steelers).

With our early inconsistencies in the Challenge Cup competition I feel we learned a valuable lesson. By urging the players to bring a high level of compete on a regular basis and having them take pride in every performance we hope that a culture of winning follows. We are well aware that Sheffield will not stay in the position they find themselves in for very long. Our approach for Wednesday’s game will be exactly as we’ve done in the past seven weeks with this group. I expect we will find ourselves facing a hungry team and need to match their intensity.” Todd Dutiaume (Head Coach, Fife Flyers)
